On Monday, ESPN and the Southeastern Conference announced a long-term agreement that will allow you to see more of your favorite SEC teams games while securing the financial health of our institutions for years to come.

The SEC's strength, combined with the prowess of ESPN's promotional ability and marketing savvy will enable us to expand the national coverage of our great league. This agreement, coupled with our recent extension of our CBS contract, will make the SEC the most nationally televised conference in the nation.

Faced with the decision of creating our own television network, our institutions made it known that one of the most important factors in our television future was the ability of our fans to watch as many of their sporting events as possible. In all of our sports, we feel our agreements with CBS and ESPN accomplish this goal.

(6) What impact will these agreements have on football start times?

CBS will maintain its exclusive 3:30 pm ET window. The over-the-air syndication window will remain at 12:30 pm ET, while the games on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, and regional syndication will generally be played in prime time.

ESPN Regional Television (ERT): The nation's largest syndicator of collegiate sports programming, becomes the official over-the-air syndication home for the SEC and will feature a game-of-the-week package (generally at 12:30 p.m. ET), with a minimum of 13 games each season throughout the SEC footprint and beyond.
