Goodbye Jim, hello Patrick...

Let's start a petition to make Patrick Coogan the permanent fill-in for Jim. It's a good combination, as Charlie can do play-by-play the entire game, and Coogan offers some interesting insight. Not to mention the fact that Charlie actually seems to enjoy the give-and-take with Patrick, whereas he always seems like he wants to punch Hawthorne. What do ya'll think?

Definitely agree does Hawthorne have pics of someone in the Athletic Dept with farm animals? There is no way he keeps his job due to his ability or his voice. LSU deserves a first rate announcer not a hack like Hawthorne!

I love all the perfectionists here. I have never been around so many perfect people, and it is indeed enlightening.
It's clear that none of these critics have either a) called any sporting event for broadcast or b) ever made any kind of mistake.
Hawthorne does a pretty good job and strikes a nice balance between being for the Tigers and telling it like it is. I hope he's here for a very long time to come.

WOW - this was not a "BASH HAWTHORNE" thread - it was more of a recognition that Coogan is doing a fine job as a fill-in.
