So a few years ago I got the Crysis 1 Remaster and was somewhat disappointed. The performance wasnt great and the campaign, especially the last third of it, was not as enjoyable as I had remembered even on the 360 hardware. My only experience with any of these games was on XBOX 360 and part 2 was probably the worst performing of the bunch.

While 2 and 3 were on sale I decided to give them a go and I have to say part 2 Remaster really shines on modern hardware. It looks and plays like a shooter from say 2016 (with a few modern graphic bells and whistles) and I mean that in the best possible way. Just a fun straightforward linear FPS campaign with different tactical options to take on enemies in well designed environments. The score and sound design are also excellent. The AI isnt the best (I hear 3 is better) so I recommend starting on veteran. If you havent ever played part 2 or if your only experience is from the 360/ PS3 era and you enjoy story based linear FPS experiences I recommend giving it a shot. Im looking forward to playing part 3.

I thought Crysis 1 was terrible, but 2 was amazing. 3 was fine.

2 had some really great storytelling (not surprising considering they got Richard Morgan to write it) and some really amazing setpiece moments.

Yea it does. Seems like a by gone era now of FPS with long story driven single player campaigns as the main focus of development. So its a nice re-visit.

"but can it run Crysis?"

The Crysis games are some of the most underappreciated in history
