Can we just play the positions? 2 runs last night and 1 already today

simply because we will not play the positions the way they have always been played. Everyone just wants to be smarter than decades of baseball. Also why is Bide ever catching. Serne is much better receiver. Bide can pinch hit and we get better catching. that first run was caused because Bide couldn't get in front of a low pitch. We are just playing such bad baseball, and honestly most of it is a result of JJ's decisions these days.

I agree. I’m so tired of the shift. It just makes the game not fun. He hit that and I said yes, easy ground ball to our best defender, and I’m sure Schmidt said the same

Exactly, they only notice it when it doesn’t work! Theres a reason MLB banned it, it’s bc it works at stopping hits and offenses

3 runs. That inning would have been over if they didn’t shift Milam for a guy who hit two opposite field HRs last night.
Idk why they deleted the thread on why the shift sucks.

It works about once a week for LSU.
We lose about 6-8 outs a week by shifting out of position.

It worked way more in MLB because big league pitchers have much more control and can pinpoint location to pretty much force a hitter to hit it in a certain direction. College pitchers dont have near that type of control.
Also there is a much bigger sample size on MLB hitters. We will shift for freshman hitters with a 100 at bats. Thats not a big enough sample size to know a hitters tendencies yet.
