“SPRING STORMS - Enjoy the quiet…because the pattern is about to flip for us. Unfortunately just in time for Jazz Fest and Zurich Classic weekend. The fine details will work themselves out over time but severe weather and heavy rain signals are showing up in the 7-10 day range.”

Via Zach Fradella meteorologist for Fox 8 on Twitter.

Shame because it’s gotten pretty lucky the past 4-5 years with weather so it was bound to run up.

They had a couple rain delays last year from what I remember.

Hope it works out for both events, but this is the reality of events in the spring time in the south. Have to get lucky with the rain.

You are correct that there were a few delays last year, little rain but more due to lightning. Hopefully Zach is wrong and the rain stays to the north and west of the area like it has been doing this year.

I did forget about last year. I don’t think it was too long of a delay. I have PTSD from some years when they literally couldn’t play any holes on a Friday or something because of rain.

They have rain delays almost every year, which contributes to none of the big players not wanting to play the event.

One year they had heavy rains and high winds. Trees fell and crap was everywhere. Play had stopped around noon and didn’t resume until the next day. Grounds guys worked all night clearing trees and debris.
