We shifted to pull with 1 out and the bases loaded.

I cannot understand the logic behind forgoing a potential double play up the middle AND a play at the plate if the ball is hit at the shifted fielder because of his depth.

Say he hits a ground ball exactly where the 2B was positioned in shallow RF, you end up with 1 out on the play and a run scored. Doesn’t make sense.

And the exact play happened that he was using as an example and it completely shite on his example. In the shift the ball was hit to where 2nd was playing deep and they pulled a DP.
