One of these pro leagues should force players to play for their home state if they ever want to develop a fan base, or at least play for the nearest team to their hometown or college or something
Not sure why I'm getting all the downvotes. Yall wouldn't be more inclined to watch if all these guys played on the same team?

The USFL tried that years ago. I don’t remember the specifics, but part of their draft had a regional component so teams had multiple regional players who fans would recognize.
I remember the Memphis Showboats had several players from Memphis, UT, Ole Miss, State, Arkansas and Bama back in the day.

I thought Mekhi Garner would stick around the league a bit

Someone who would’ve greatly benefited by returning for another year. He had a lot of potential

You're correct. The USFL teams of the 1980s tried a "Territorial Draft" of local players. In some instances, it worked. Overall, it didn't help much to appeal to fans.

They should try it again with the way cfb has changed. There's no doubt that fans have less passion and attachment to cfb with players transferring every year (even to conference rivals) and having no allegiance to their school or state. Seems like someone should capitalize on that and try to recreate it in one of these other pro leagues.
Obviously it's never going to compete with CFB or the NFL, but there could be a market there
