Gamebird’s GB1 page

A rich retired guy (most likely) has been flying this south of Lafayette and man it sounds good.

Game Aerospace is basically a side quest of the Walton family up in NWA.

quote:

Game Aerospace LLC, based in Bentonville, Arkansas, is an aircraft manufacturer specializing in advanced composite aircraft design, certification, and production, known for the aerobatic GB1 GameBird and the new GB2 multi-mission aircraft. The company, founded by Steuart Walton and Philipp Steinbach, has expanded its capabilities through acquisitions, including Grove Aircraft Landing Gear Systems, and operates from a large facility at Thaden Field (VBT). Key aspects of Game Aerospace: Products: The GB1 GameBird is a high-performance, two-seat aerobatic aircraft, while the GB2 is designed for roles like aerial firefighting. Technology: They use advanced composite materials (like carbon fiber) for lightweight and strong airframes, integrating modern avionics. Capabilities: The company handles all aspects from design and tooling to final production, with a focus on quality and innovation. Expansion: Recent growth includes the acquisition of Grove Aircraft, adding landing gear expertise, and a rebranding from Game Composites to Game Aerospace. Location: The headquarters and manufacturing facility are located at Thaden Field (VBT) in Bentonville, Arkansas, a hub for general aviation.

As cool as this looks and the likelihood of riskier maneuvers going wrong, even Piper Cubs can kill you.

This quote used to hang on the wall where I took flight lessons:

quote:

The famous quote regarding the Piper Cub is: “The Cub is the safest airplane in the world; it can just barely kill you.” It is widely attributed to Max Stanley, a Northrop test pilot. This saying highlights the plane's slow, forgiving nature—it is easy to fly but still demands respect.

Cubs are great.

My father in law said one guy was dropping candy out the side door for kids for Halloween by Abbeville one year.

Do you know if those guys fly out of Louisiana Regional?

If you ever have time watch this dude live the dream in his super cub. He lands on beaches and mountains to go camping. Sticks his beer cans in glacier water:

I wanna find this guy and ask for a ride for a fellow pilot. I’ve been watching him stir up the local chemtrail crowd LOL

Can you pull up to him and hand signal that “chemtrail good, you are welcome here”?

Just kidding, but I’ve only ever seen the smoke circles. What other times does he have the smoke on?

I'm not sure. I do know last week the cub landed at what I can only think would be where those horse stables are off 42 where HWY 930 runs into 42. I panicked and thought maybe it was making an emergency landing. Drove around looking for it but couldn't find it. Didn't see anything on the news so I assumed he was fine. Then a couple of evenings later he does the same thing so he's obviously landing somewhere in that area. I know they don't need much of a landing strip.

Based on your very helpful description, it’s looking like the strip’s FAA code is 24LA. They must be flying STOL Cubs because it’s only like 500 feet of grass south of Highway 42. You are a Good Samaritan though for wanting to help out a potential off airport landing!

Into the wind a carbon cub can land in less than 10 feet.
It's crazy.

Looks like they do. Tell them I'm the dummy out in his yard waving to them. Have a metal roof and a small pond with a ditch that runs along it.

That’s what I’m talking about. Those smoke circles had people pulling over and videoing.

Ah gotcha

By the way, he is in the air now. His last abs-d reading was 7,600 feet and 32 kts ground speed.
