He didn’t get developed. He carried a team and went one and done come March. Damn good player but BYU paid him and did nothing to build him.

It’s why teams will hesitate to keep spending like they are
If your not getting results why continue to pay so much

BYU really struggled when Saunders went down

AJ chose to go there because of Kevin Young having been a coach at the NBA-level. And the money. But its about to happen again with Bruce Branch heading there

I mean would he have been “developed” better anywhere else? Doubtful. The one year college rule is a farce anyway.

Are we supposed to feel bad for him or something?

No but put him on Alabama and they’re a top seed, title contender.

Save the Holloway jokes - I would’ve loved to see Bama with him given the shooters on the team.

What are you talking about? Dybantsa got free rein to be the man at BYU. That’s what he wanted to do and got paid for it.

I’d say he got exactly what he wanted.

BYU on the other hand…I mean I don’t if the guy that gave him $7 mil is happy with a 1st round exit. Need more than 1 guy to be a good team

What did you want BYU to do for him that they didn’t? The checks cleared and bigger ones are on the way.

Probably good for his development.

Who cares anyway? Top-3 lock. I hope the Pacers get him.

They paid him multi millions for - a first round exit and a six seed? Not close to a conference title?

For what they paid, seems like a giant waste of money.

Because no one will remember his BYU career 20 years from now.

He could’ve done better had he not been chasing a check.

Is not the goal of any profession to make the most money possible?

He also plays in the best basketball conference and they lost their best shooter to an ACL injury

Maybe he wanted to play for BYU? He might have visited Bama and thought some of his future teammates weren’t the kind of people he wanted to spend a year with.

I’m pretty sure they paid other dudes as well. They went for it. And got no championship of any kind and a first round exit. Ouch.
