Oh yeah, LSU players are always terribly conditioned and underperforming at the combine.
Oh wait...
... Nevermind.

B.S.. Boots garland is a speed coach. I have never heard Moffit be considered anything but a strength coach. moffit is a Hatch disciple and Hatch's principles are based on being explosive.

parcells wasn't even his coach or GM this offseason, so i don't see how that would prove anything in reply to those facts
I really don't care about the Tuna's drama/retirement, unretired whatever. Fact: Parcells drafted Marcus Spears with Draft combine information in his hand.

but moffit was mainly a speed guy at miami, plus we've gone to a more big10 style under les (more power, less speed). i don't know who is responsible for the philosophy, but i just wish we'd go for more speed
He isn't emphasizing anything different here than he did at Miami.

then why don't we measure out?
bench? no
40? no
vertical? no
broad jump? no

then i guess we just don't have the talent of other schools

SloFo...just a question with your post avg. at 75 a day for the last 5yrs, do you have a job?

or we don't recruit the talent that we think we do
are you really saying that the fans who post on here might have unrealistic expectations for the LSU players? No way.

so therefore i can know nothing of the 1970s?
Other than what you've read about, or the occassional ESPN Classic game, you know nothing about the 1970's.

yup
in my time here i'd finished my BA (graduated summa cum laude) and law degree, and i have had a full time job since the middle of may. i just finished my first run at the bar this past week

i don't have unrealistic expectations
we have recruited some insane classes, so i guess you have to throw rivals and scout into that basket also

depends on which Miami teams you want to compare, right? I don't think that LSU teams in this decade are as talented overall as Miami's in the 90's. Very close though.

well late 90s/early 00s nobody touched miami
i'm not expecting all pros to get drafted every year from LSU or 3-5, 1st rounders every year
nobody's going to match that run

i think i stumbled on 2 codes, but who knows?

Though I do feel that sometimes LSU bulks their guys up a little too much BUT have you ever considered that these 40 times coming out of HS might be a "little inflated"...
Impossible. Everyone knows that every linebacker in the state of TX runs a 4.4

my point. Moffitt coached at the U at that time, using the same system he uses here.
Posted on 2/23/09 at 8:31 pm to Stevo
but i don't expect him to put out every LB in the 4.5s and damn near every DB in the low 4.4s/4.3s like those miami teams had
when was the last time we had a LB in the 4.5s or a legit DB prospect in the 4.3s?
*ETA: other than laron. nobody is saying he didn't have a really good 40 a couple years ago

you only need 7. Besides, it's always like that- no one ever feels like they aced all Codes. Chances are you muddled through them just fine.
