Maybe this belongs in the stickied thread, but thought I would suggest a possible solution.

870 AM used to have a phone number that you could call and listen to their station. I used to call and listen to basketball games all the time. Last time I checked the number didn't work, but maybe the number just changed or something. Anyway, if anybody knows if it still works that way, we could just post that phone number every week (that would be completely legal). Free long distance is standard these days so it seems to be a good option.

Feel free to whack this thread if this is useless.

So can we get that number?

Also, if you go to the 870 website they have streaming audio of their station. That has to be legal right? Or does it go off the air at gametime?

They air the commercials, but go dark during game action. That seems to confuse people as to whether or not they are streaming the game...

Everyone shouldn't worry about it too much. The next game is on ESPN and it will be tournament time before you know it. There should be plenty of options to view once the tournament begins.

except a lot of us want to follow baseball as well, and all this affects that ability.

I have held out on the concept of getting satellite radio, but are "official" audio broadcasts available on satellite radio for people who are now using online streams, because they live out of the WWL radio market?

did WRNO decide against ever rebuilding their tower that burned that had games on 'shortwave' ?

and another thing... apparently WWL doesn't stream LSU/Saints events because of franchise issues. But why can't they cut some kind of deal to "sell" the ability to listen to streamed audio and split the $$ with LSU? WWL's stream works great for me, and I'd consider a membership or one time fee to listen to games through their website, since I know it's dependable and works well for me......

Sorry, just assumed everyone was talking basketball. I have XM and they have 3 dedicated SEC channels and a couple of overflow channels for the times there are multiple SEC events. I don't know if they broadcast baseball games, but I would think that they would broadcast all sports.

Excellent point. Plus, the '09-'10 season will be broadcast heavily on ESPN. A few more games should be televised.

I don't think XM gets many (or any) baseball games, but I could be wrong. You might want to be sure before purchasing XM.

Same here. During football season, I use a lot of gas during untelevised games on those cold Kansas nights.

I remember one night during the '07 football season that I was just driving up and down the street in front of my house to finish up one of Miles's pressers!!
