Baseball is a long haul sport. No other sport has the up & down variations as BA

Pitching should be more predictable but ... this staff is talented but wildly inconsistent. Defense is usually most predictable of baseball components and Tigers have taken step(s) backward at 1B, 2B, C & 3B.

Right but if you’re bad for half the year. It may not matter if you’re very good at the end of the year. We’re not there yet, but a few more weeks of this play and the 2nd half of season may not matter

We are still waiting for that aTm team to bounce back any weekend from last year….

Sometimes you don’t have what you think you have. It’s not like there are 1-2 things we need to clean up here. We might be able to clean up some of the hitting but you’re trying to get 6 of the 9 guys in your lineup to start hitting. Hopefully Stanfield comes around, which he should but you still have 5 guys that have zero data to show they can hit SEC pitching. You have 2-3 pitchers that have regressed since last year and are struggling to throw strikes. The biggest issue of them all is on defense. We are dead last in the SEC in fielding percentage and their baseball IQ is awful.
Let’s just say JJ finds a way to clean this up. What is our record at that point? We have shown through 4 decades that we can not make it to Omaha unless we go through the box.

The to make it even worse, we lose every single defensive starter after this season. How does that locker room look next year? The culture? Knowing what we know now, I’d rather taken our lumps with elite young guys this year so we would have a core to build around for next year.

I don’t think this team is as talented as the media and ranking portrayed them to be.

The highly touted freshman seem to be raw and will need time to develop.

The transfers seem like they are not that talented.

-Yorke is a below average first baseman and hitting hasn’t translated.
-Carraway looks awful at 3rd, slow feet and arm isn’t great. Has looked bad at the plate.
-Dardar seems like a middle of the road big-ten second baseman. Not overly talented.

Baseball has went down hill since Kiffin was photobombed by Livvy.
