Digging canals is expensive. Pipelines too.

But forty years ago we were introduced to a regime that would play dirty.
At least thirty years ago the think tanks should have thought of pipes to Dibba and Fujairah.
Twenty years ago a pipe to the Red Sea or multiple pipes should shave been considered.
Understood that Bab El Mandab could be just as tricky with Yemen and Somalia/Djibouti……Suez as well.
But here we are. Us and the Arabian peninsula trying tk figure out how to get oil out of the gulf.
What are the answers? Escorts are expensive as well.

A canal from Fujairia (how ever you spell it) to the other side would be a good answer.
If we use Indian labor for the most manual labor parts it could be down fairly reasonably cost wise.

A second pipeline from Canada to Texas would have been nice as well.

I guess there is no telling when Saudi becomes hostile and the USA probably has tried to put the cost on them.
But now, It looks like they cannot sell oil as easily as before.

Tankers of Saudi crude headed to the USA were loaded in the Red Sea at Yanbu at least 40 years ago.
Try harder

There are at least 5 pipelines from Canada. Several were new since 2005 when Venezuela became unstable and the need for some HEAVY crude was required.

Certainly trying harder over here.
Need more pipes to Red Sea. You act like the process is currently flawless.

Those pipelines would be from Iraq, Kuwait, and Qatar. There is a pipeline from UAE to Oman already as well. There was a pipeline from Saudi Arabi to the Med at Syria. It was abandoned decades ago.
There also is a pipeline from Northern Iraq via Turkey to the Med.
