Headed to Greece for 5.5 weeks in Sept/Oct. Can't wait! Gonna drive from Thessaloniki to Athens and stay in Meteora, Delphi, Olympia, & Nafplio.

Then flying over to Naxos for 5 nights. For now we have a AirBnB in town, but wondering if we should consider somewhere else?

Then we ferry over for 5 nights in Santorini. Used Hilton points for the 5th night free at Secret Suites SLH in Oia so a total of 600k points for a $4k+ stay.

Another ferry to Crete for 10 nights. That one lands at 5:15p so I'm thinking it might make sense to stay in Heraklion for the night and go hit up Knossos and the Archeological Museum the next day. Is one night good or should we consider two? We are renting a car the whole time. I keep debating between spending upwards of a week in either Chania or Rethymno. Looking for good recs here. We're definitely trying to do more AirBnB style as this Greece trip is on the back end of a few months long trip. And finally we're using my wife's free night cert for the Domes of Elounda and a friend's and family rate for a second night. For those who've been, is 2 nights enough in Elounda?

I did check some other threads on here and saw some good food recommendations, but I'll always listen to more recs!

TIA

Same here except in June and can’t cancel without penalty at this point so hope I don’t read I made a bad decision.

I think town is fine, but it does seem like maybe a beach area would be good too. This won't be our only beach area so that's part of why I was ok with it. Still open to move though.

Two nights in Elounda is enough. Eat at Kanali at least once. The drive there is a bit sketchy at night (you’ll feel like you’re going to drive off the bridge into the water), but the food and atmosphere is unbelievable.

We stayed a few places , one was near Galini. We would walk into town and have amazing food in the cool (very) small town.

Palatiana Agriturismo - Philoxenia Cottages was the place we stayed there and I would recommend it if you’re looking to chill out for a few days, and the experience of walking into town through agricultural/rural Naxos into Galini at the one restaurant there was a very special experience.

The beach on the north side is very scenic and not so crowded. Amitis I think it is called.

I would recommend renting a car if you stay outside of the Chora. Even if you do stay in chora I would recommend renting a car for a day to kick around. Beautiful mountains and a cool town Chalkio with a distillery is a good spot. Lots of hiking also. Or just towns to get lost in for a bit.

One more thing. You’ll want to check out a website “SantoriniDave” and navigate the different links for Oia, Naxos, Crete, etc

In Naxos take a look at To Elliniko for dinner one night.

If you change your mind and choose to go the hotel route in Naxos, take a look at Nissaki Beach Hotel.

Definitely get a car in Naxos, it is a big island and if you are in Chora you will need to drive to the beach.

We stayed at an AirBnB in Stelida- it is near Chora, but also near the beaches. About a 10 min drive to each. We would drive to Plaka beach, have breakfast at a beachside cafe, rent a chair on the beach for the rest of the day then head home to clean up and have dinner in town. It was heaven.

I recommend To Elliniko as well. My wife and I spent a few hours there one night having a great time with the staff. Our waitress was great and we struck up conversation, and the night ended with us in the kitchen with the owner and me wearing a staff T shirt.

Not to hijack thread but my husband and I are doing 2 nights in Paros, 3 nights in Naxos, and 2 nights in Santorini in June. In Naxos we are staying near city center at the Naxos Resort Beach Hotel, which is newly renovated hotel. It used to be called Galaxy Hotel.

In Paros, we are staying at Hotel Senia. In Santorini, we have an airbnb in Oia.
Any recommendations for beaches, restaurants, etc. I would appreciate.
We are thinking boat catamaran tours in both Paros and Santorini.

Great location, nice hotel and beautiful pool

There are tons of restaurants down near the water in that area, its a very very lively town. I think we ate at Sigi Ikthos but there are tons of restaurants many open air on the water
