I've hit a pretty controlled high fade my whole life. It's the shot shape I prefer, I've tinkered with it over the years but also stick with the fade.

Well the other day I show up to the range and all of a sudden I have a low draw with my driver. Shoot in the high 80's for the first time in ages. Worst/most frustrating round I've had in a while. Very hard to make yourself set up for a draw when in your head you're thinking about your normal shot shape.

I figured it was a one time thing and my fade would come back. Well my last two rounds were draws off the tee (my irons are still fade). It's driving me nuts.

I'm sure it's something simple but I don't get lessons, video my swing, or watch youtube instructional videos. I've always been able to work kinks out. my set up feels the same, grip, everything. Any tips on what might have caused this?

I obviously know it could be 100 different things but maybe looking for some simple things to try out on the range. TIA

ball postition?
hanging back?
club stuck behind you?

could be a number of things.

Could be as small as you hitting the ball on the toe a bit and gear affect is causing the ball to draw. That is a matter of millimeters.

Going to put some alignment stick out at the range today to check this.

I have been battling a shoulder injury for a year now and my swing has lengthened a bit because I now cock my wrists over a bit at the top of my swing. Not John Daly level but a little bit. That could cause some lag/club stuck I would think. But it's consistent with my irons too and they haven't changed.

Might try shortening my swing up a bit to get rid of that and see. Extended it like I did with my wrist to make up for loss of distance that came with the shoulder injury.

It's early in the season and I'm still shaking some rust off so I'm hoping it works itself out after my swing becomes more repeatable/muscle memory is there. But just frustrating right now and my last range session I could not figure it out.

It’s obviously different for everyone, but looks like when it’s going well we have similar flight patterns. When I feel like I’m making good swings but it starts turning left, I find I’m typically standing a little too far away from it and hitting it off the toe.

I’m not talking about dead straight pulls. I’m talking about the ball starts off straight (like it never really starts right to make a true draw), but it’s lower than normal and turns into basically a hook that runs into the left rough. And it actually travels a little further than the well hit fade, but is hard to control. Just always seems to run too far left.

Man there it is. my first round when this popped up was a tournament and 4 times I was in the trash by 1-2 feet and had to punch out. Wasn't used to the roll out you got.

I force myself to aim right but it's not like I send it out right and it shapes back. It's more of it goes straighter and then turns over.

I'll move and inch or so closer next range session and test it out.
