Does Jay Johnson require all of his hitters

To have wide stances with little or no strides? They all hit super spread out, and most of them look stuck at the plate. I can’t think of one hitter on the team who has a leg kick or even much of a stride.

Its a pretty good strategy for most hitters.
Helps get into your legs and keep your head still when swinging. Added bonus of more time to evaluate the pitch

Milam has a pretty wild leg kick.

It’s easier to hit the ball if you don’t have a leg kick or huge stride
But the team sucks, so I guess we can criticize anything right now.

It works for some. But certainly not all. A lot of successful hitters use a leg kick or operate in a narrower stance. He seems to force the wide base on all hitters. At least that’s what it appears.

It worked for tommy white when he had 2 strikes. But none of these guys are close to being tommy white
