I say Scheyer.

Day cause Scheyer hasn’t won a national championship yet.

Ryan Day was born rounding 3rd base

Day because he got there before he was replacing a roster every year.
The turnover on college basketball is much higher.

I’ve been very impressed with Scheyer. It’s never easy to be the guy that follows a legend. But Duke is well coached. And he knows how to put together a team in this portal/NIL era. Didn’t skip a beat after losing Flagg and Knueppel.

Do people not know Ryan Day’s history? I’m so confused by this thinking….

It's a sick burn from Harbaugh but yeah it's kinda wrong. Day took over a beast but he worked his way up.

quote:I'd argue he didn't deserve the opportunity he got. He leveraged 2 years as Chip Kelly's QB coach for bad PHI and SF offenses directly into OSU's co-OC/QB coach with a senior 30-game starter JT Barrett and Dwayne Haskins waiting for him
Day took over a beast but he worked his way up.
They both followed great coaches but Day was able to actually inherit something in an era of stability. He was at OSU before the portal and NIL even started. There was basically no roster turnover when he took over and he's been able to ease into those changes with a very supportive AD and garbage B1G competition
Scheyer didn't inherit a single scholarship player from Coach K. He took over his own program, and his 3 full season progression in a far more competitive sport has been R32 -> Elite 8 -> Final 4
They're both good coaches and arguing otherwise is just sipping haterade but Day has the bigger silver spoon by a mile. He'd probably agree with it too

The five 5 stars in the recruiting class he inherited should count.
