As Nancy Mace says here, I don't want to hear shite about Epstein files from these fricking creeps who just killed a bill that would require Congress to make public a list of lawmakers who have been using taxpayer funds to pay off sexual harassment victims in DC.

Paulina Luna still kicking arse and taking names. After they killed this bill her move was to make a motion in the oversight committee to subpoena the same documents and expose these bastards. Anna Paulina Luna is a badass.

Am I missing something here? It appears that what was voted on was to release the information to the public and it passed 357 to 65.

They voted to send it to the ethics committee so the congressmen can investigate themselves. What can, and will happen, is the bill will just sit there indefinitely with no further action.

Yes. This amounts to procedural euthanasia for this bill. Instead of sending it to the floor for a vote they voted to send it to ethics where it can, and will, sit indefinitely without further action. They just killed it.

The directive for the ethics committee to preserve and release these files is non-binding and the ethics committee operates under its own rules. Once there they can either ignore it or simply vote to take no further action.

I think that is intentional. As I understand it, the vote was a "Motion to Refer" which since it passed will send the resolution to some committee to be reviewed (and probably buried).

But I could be wrong.

It happened because Mace filed it as a privileged resolution. She did this to try to get it to the floor quickly. But when something is filed as a privileged resolution they then have the option to send it to ethics.

Nancy Mace compiled an easier to read list of the people who voted to kill it.
