I am looking around but would like to hear the board’s opinion on this (I searched and most threads were from like 2024.)

- Roku
- TCL
- LG
- Samsung
- Etc.

Used for: Sports, Kids movies/shows
Size: 75”
Price range: 900-1500 (don’t need the cheapest and don’t need the most expensive.)

In your price range it looks like rtings.com recommends the TCL QM7K: TCL QM7K TV Review

Thanks, I’ll check it out.

Do you have any other recommendations outside (higher) than the price range I mentioned?

That TV is huge. I bet I could fit your mom on that TV.

If you raise your budget to about $2k, I'd say either the Samsung S90F (77'') or the TCL QM8K (75'').

QM8K

I've had the 65 inch version for a couple of months now

Picture quality is great to me, I can' imagine dropping a considerable amount more to step up to OLED would be worth the price difference. It's got a really nice viewing angle, and while it does struggle with lights directly opposite it, it handles overall glare and reflections pretty well

Where it absolutely sucks is the onboard apps. The Google Home interface is fine, and actually pretty snappy and intuitive to use. But the picture quality on the individual apps themselves just falls way short compared to my Roku Ultra. Both devices 2 feet apart, connected to the same wifi running the same apps and viewing the same sources, the Roku wins every time hands down. And not just PQ, but handling fast action is far better on the ROKU as well, unless you turn the TV motion handling all the way up, which then gives you the dreaded soap opera affect x 10

As long as you are planning to pair this TV with a quality external device, I can't recommend it enough. If the TV is your main/only source of content, I would definitely look elsewhere

Main things I have my tv on for are Hulu (sports) Netflix, Disney (kids stuff), and maybe some HBO here and there.

I am a pretty casual TV user I guess and thus easier to please than other, more discerning consumers.
