Transferring Everything from Laptop to Laptop?

My 6+ year old laptop is getting weirder everyday, so I am researching a new laptop. What is the best way to transfer everything over? I keep getting screens popping up while I am not touching anything. I think it is the keyboard causing this.

PC or Mac?
Both have built in transfer programs.

You need to have your system checked for malware. MalwareBytes is a good place to start.
All your programs will need to be reinstalled, because they're not composed of just "files." Your documents and spreadsheets and whatnot can be transferred in many ways, but you need to stop clicking on whatever is flashing in your browser window, and switch to a browser like Brave which automatically block ads and popups.

One of he the popup's is the search feature of "F9 ". The keyboard backlight turns on then the search screen pops up. The calendar popped up while I was typing this. I had four popup's while I was typing this. It is not malware. I use DuckDuckGo and Brave only.

Here's the built in way on a PC. They also make software out there you can buy you might want to look into.
