Looking for book recommendations before I go, just to brush up on a few things.
Thanks in advance.

I’ve read Landscape Turned Red: The Battle of Antietam by Stephen W. Sears and thought that it war really good.

it's historical fiction but The Killer Angels is a good read.
I went in high school. I want to go again now that I'm old enough to really appreciate it.

I don't know how fast you read, but if you're looking for something more "tour-friendly," then I would recommend A Field Guide to Antietam and a Field Guide to Gettysburg, both books by Carol Reardon and Tom Vossler.
Both are very informative and break the battlefields down into tour stops that give you an all encompassing picture of both battles. If you decide to purchase, make sure you get the second edition of the Gettysburg field guide as it corrects some errors from the first, as well as adds a stop or two.
