ESPN Baseball Tonight 1994 (June 18, 1994) Chris Myers and Jim Kaat

Aaah, the good ol' days reminder again.
Chris Myers and Jim Kaat (who was a great analyst imo) do the honors. ESPN was doing almost everything right back then. Easy to sit back and watch.
Show opens with their iconic music intro....with Ken Griffey and his Mariners (at this point at Game #65 way ahead of both Ruth and Maris on the way fastest to 30 HRs on the way to the Home Run record -- 1994 was the strike shortened season). Tino Martinez -- still with the Mariners -- slashes a double to score Junior.
Yanks and Expos seemed destined to meet in the WS in 1994. The Bomber were on pace to win the Pennant for the first time Don Mattingly's storied career (the next year would be his last).
Montreal was stacked. The MLB strike broke up what was probably their best team in their history.

I can't watch the video right now, but isn't this right around the OJ chase?

I think it was the day after. On June 17, you had Griffey tying Ruth's record for fastest to 30, Palmer playing his last round in a US Open, start of the first World Cup on US Soil, the OJ Chase, and an NBA Finals game. It was unbelievable day.

Great memory. I just looked it up.
June 17, 1994 was indeed when O.J. Simpson and his white Bronco were pursue by Buford T. Justice and LA's Finest.

If you listen to Myers' opening, there is a "chase" reference and other similar plays on words.

Good god, the coverage back then was infinitely better than the story line driven nonsense that’s blasted daily these days
They actually talked about baseball and standings and important shite instead of whatever SJW nonsense the top players were tweeting about - what an insane concept

Bitter-sweet, ain't it?
Yeah, now it's all social media noise and SJW crap.
