What are the best beaches within an hour or so of Clearwater? I have scene most of the coastline of Fla just not the middle west coast part.

Anna Maria is about an hour away.

Personal favorite is Treasure Island/Madeira beach
Beaches are great and plenty of fun bars/restaurants, etc

Can second Anna Maria. Go most years and will be there for 2 weeks in June-July.

Siesta Key is consistently rating top beach by Dr. Beach. Its crushed quartz, so it stays cool on the feet, soft and white sand. TI, as mentioned is great- of the few legal to drink on the beach places. St. pete Beach is nice as well. Not a fan of Long boat Key- too small of a beach.
