Dual Source BBQ Pit

Debating if I want a dual source bbq pit. I like lighting up a charcoal pit when I have the time on the weekend but REALLY like the quickness of a propane burner when I knock off work and decide to throw some deer sausage or burgers on the grill.
Any suggestions on one that won’t break the bank or is this a buy once cry once kinda item? Thanks

If you have the space, they're great. Not sure if this brand is still around, but I had the Char-Griller dual. Added the offset smokebox on the charcoal side, and it had a gas burner off the gas side as well. It looked almost identical to this one:

I had this Oklahoma Joe for years that my parents bought me as a welcome back gift from a deployment. It was great to have the flexibility like you are talking about. I could do quick burgers or grilled chicken on weekdays and longer cooks on weekends.
Edit:
Looking at the post above, I remember that mine had a side burner. I'd highly recommend finding something with that so you can cook sauces or keep them warm.

Without writing a massive paragraph about not getting a combo, get a weber kettle and a tailgate gas grill ( HD ) Will occupy roughly the same amount of space, when one goes bad replace it.

Does this lil propane grill actually have a low, med and high setting that works?
Don’t think I’ve owned one where it wouldn’t burn everything into a crisp.

That one specifically, no clue. Had a 2 burner from Sam's up at the camp that did everything I needed a gas grill to do. Are they as nice as the Bull Outlaw at the house? Absolutely not, but food didn't taste any different.
Lasted 4 years sitting out on a porch in the woods with squirrels and rodents chewing everything around it. Only major complaint was a little messy and grease tray didn't catch everything, so I'd keep an amazon box or something under if,

I also like to do both, depending on the cook and circumstance. Sometimes, I'll throw a grate over my fire pit after it burns down a bit.

The little grill i had like was pretty bad. Constant flare ups and stuff, no burner control.
Was nice and portable and made it work when tailgating though.

If OP is using the grill as described for weeknight premade hamburgers and links of deer sausage, it should be fine. I doubt it's much worse than the control on the $400 chargrill combo gas/charcoal. Most of those combo grills are cheaply made, and fall apart/rust out really quickly. You're better off with separate grills than a combo.
If he has room for it I would get a full-size gas grill nothing expensive (We have this one at work) and a weber kettle or Oklahoma Joe grill
