Toledo Bend - Sabine River Authority Not Following Own Operations Guide on Water Release

Operations guide (halfway down web page) says in January the generators are open only if lake is over 168.5: Operations Schedule
Current water level is 168.05: Current Lake Level
According to SRA/USGS data, the lake did not reach or go over 168.5 this week.
Additionally, both generators are operating 24/7 - not even partial operations.
WTF

Probably something to do with the nasty arse weather and need for as much grid availability as possible

Rayburn is down 10 feet or so and they are generating as well

Yes I heard Rayburn is super low right now along with Toledo which makes sense due to lack of rains.

Rayburn had to lower it to fix the dam. They got it done in time but need a ton of rain to get it back up.

Big article yesterday on how solar in Texas can’t keep up with demand during the freeze. Probably adding capacity to the grid to make up for it. Evidently all of the smart engineers and environmental wackos forgot that solar doesn’t have an accelerator that can be pushed to increase capacity when demand goes up.

I’ve read a lot on the Toledo bend charter and bylaws. There is nothing in there that says that they can generate below 168 period. As long as it’s above 168, they will keep generating. I’ve been to the board meetings and I can promise you that there are some back door deals going on with the executives. No way to explain their actions otherwise. They have been trying to sell water to Texas for years.
