To safely deice your windshield, first start your car and turn on the defroster, then use a plastic scraper, soft brush, or squeegee to clear ice, applying a DIY solution (2 parts rubbing alcohol, 1 part water) for stubborn spots, and never use hot water or metal tools, as these can crack the glass. Lifting your wipers beforehand also prevents them from freezing, and using a windshield cover overnight prevents ice buildup entirely.

the heat quit working in my hunting truck so I stopped at the local breakfast joint. Got a biscuit and ordered a large cup of hot water. The cashier said "oh you can't put hot water on your window i will give you luke warm". I had a Ron Swanson moment where i wanted to say "bring me all the bacon and eggs that you have". I was going to put it in the reservoir, and by the time it got through the lines it would have been cooled enough. But hey facebook lady, go ahead an think for me.
