Isn't Washington an "at will" state? Demond can just "quit" the team, and not accept $$$?

How does an "at will" state govt job site force someone to perform for them? Which would also include forcing him to register for classes??

“At Will” has to do with employment. All teams have pushed for players to not be considered employees.

But I thought that decision hadnt been made yet. And will come sometime in May?

"At will" refers to an employee-employer relationship that has not been memorialized in a contract. Just "Hey you're hired".

Putting aside the issue that CFB players are not employees, even if they were, this "relationship" was made contractual, so "at will" is inapplicable, so the terms of termination are governed by that contract, which is the entire point of a contract.

This is not an at-will employment issue. At Will Employment is a default rule for standard employment relationships. But that does not prohibit employers and employees from entering into a written contract which governs the terms of the employment relationship rather than being governed by State law.

So, this is not an At Will employment issue, this is a contactual issue.

Yeah, it hasn't. The legalese could go one way or another with whatever is ultimately decided, and that probably won't be the end of it either.
