No talk about Jackson Harris? -- great pickup by Lane.

First time posting here even though Ive been lurking for over a decade...so, be gentle. Haha. Just kidding. The polemy and snarkiness here seems more fun.
I like Jackson Harris as much as Cam Coleman. Same measurable and 4.5 forty speed and both high point the ball with some physicality. While Hilton and Anderson had the height and speed, I did not see the other traits.
Then you add in the two freshman commits, Barber and Mack, for speedy slot receivers...both had sub 4.4 forty yard times.
I never saw Taron Francis play but he was known more for his his physical build over raw speed. His 40 yard times cannot be verified but have been reported in the 4.55 to 4.65 range. I dont think that's the type of speed Kiffen wants in his wide outs.
The staff is going to go hard for Easton Royal next year...he has verified 4.3 speed. We must get Jamar Chase on him. Braylon Calais is also in that 4.3 range. I think these are the type of wide outs Kiffen wants -- 4.3 to 4.5 speed. I think that's why Kiffen processed Kenny Darby; his speed is in 4.6 range. I also believe that's why he didn't try hard to keep Kyle Parker-- his 40 yard time is north of 4.65...Trey Dez Green is that fast as a TE.
Football is a game of inches and a tenth of a second is the difference between a yard of seperation or not. One extra step is commonly equated to approximately 0.1 seconds. Thats the difference between a completion or a contested ball...all a WR needs is a step!!!

I love the Jackson Harris pickup. He could very well be the most underrated receiver in the portal. I believe he'll be a big playmaker for us. He's an extremely dangerous deep threat. Unfortunately, the pickup is being overshadowed by the fact that we desperately need someone to get it to him. Hopefully that's solved by Tuesday.

There was quite a bit of love for Harris when he committed on Saturday, but this board has moved fast since then, so those posts are probably several pages back.

Kiffin wants receivers that can adjust to the ball. He loves contested catches and back shoulders. Pure speed mean nothing if you can twist and adjust to catch a back shoulder with a DB draped on you. Back shoulders and RPOs are what Smart and Saban hate more than anything. So Lane has perfected it

I’ll be more excited when we get someone who can throw to him.

Good looking reel. Big, fast, good hands. A lot to like. It looked like he was being defended by some 5'9 dbs.

Posted yesterday when he committed but this is what I think Kiffin is so elite at other than the obvious offensive mind. Not saying that other places didn’t want this guy but he always seems to find studs at smaller, more unknown places. Hope this guy shows out. Looks awesome

Hilton had the speed but was not a tall receiver by any means. He was actually a shorter outside receiver. Nic Anderson was coming off injury and dealt with a nagging injuries throughout fall camp and into the season. So he was not able to showcase the speed. He has talent but the question is if he can remain healthy to showcase.
Taron Francis was killing it in practice. Speed doesn't always translate to football speed. Taron Francis was someone who was fast on the football speed even though his raw speed numbers might not suggest it. Thats a loss.
But the staff will get a good receiving corp. I am not worried about it at all.
