Yeah. You say that man.

You gotta Remember, no coach wanted this job.
Aging Roster.
Dead Money Salary Cap.
Then the Money Grubbing Family members, Rita, Gayle.
Then the constant interfering GM AKA Mickey Loomis.
The Constant Fumbled Draft Picks
The Saints have been the whipping boy of the league with bogus Penalities.
So no coach wanted this job.
Dumpster Fire of a City

New Orleans was deseperate.
Kellen Moore was the only one stuipd enough to take the job.
Thats why they had to take him.

No Credit

Give Kellen Credit for Scouting Moore.

Wasn't Kellen like the 3rd or 4th choice and essentially fell into his lap?

Hard for me to give too much credit considering he wanted a few others first, like Aaron Glenn, but at least the deal got done.

Glenn would have been DA 2.0. You are already seeing it with the jets. Great Assistant Coach but bad head coach

I thought at the time Moore was a bit of a risk but I liked the idea of the guy who orchestrated the Eagles offense with a limited QB. A young offensive coach who is a talented play caller. He just lacked head coaching experience. There are only 32 of these NFL jobs. It’s not like if these candidates turn down the Saints there are a bunch of other options. Peyton wasn’t a sure thing at the time, because he was an unknown as a head coach. Moore gives me Peyton type vibes. We could end up being set for a long time with Moore and Shough.

No doubt he wanted Glenn and he was his first choice. I always thought Moore was a good gamble hire. Still young and good record of developing qbs. Really was the best hire he could make under the circumstances of what he did to the team with a horrible cap situation, old players and lack of elite talent.
