Red Beans and Rice been cooking since 3:00 yesterday PM

Richard's sausage incorporated into beans. Having them for supper tonight. They'll continue to cook in the crock pot until then. BTW they have been in the crock pot the whole time.

Why so? I haven't done this before but a local guy suggested this. Said his turn out well when doing it this way.

So around 27 hours?? WOW thats a bit long.. I could understand if you started it this morning but yesterday at 3? Thats gonna be some mush. Longest I would cook this dish would be 6-10 hours.

That is how I cook mine. Start them at night on low, then add the sausage the next morning and let it continue to cook on low the whole time and we eat them that night. They cook about 24 hours and are not mushy.

I'm eating some now and they are gooooooooood! Ya'll had me worried but they turned out fine.
