This is Palmer Lucky, he was the founder of the Oculus and this was on Joe Rogan two months ago but is the first I'm seeing it.

He explains how many entertainment companies, gaming specifically, has become overrun with people who's primary motivation to bring greater "equity" and "representation"

Their goal isn't to make great games or even to make money.

It's clear what he's describing is completely true considering how many horrible flops have come out that are games that completely disregard who the actual audience is and is built for a mythological "modern audience" that doesn't exist.

Rogan brings up Bud Light as a good example, not in the games industry but the same exact thing.

It's clearly happened in movies and TV too, not to mention comics and table top games.

It's amazing how much money these companies have lost attempting to pander to these people.

Then the board of these companies should be held liable for not holding up their fiduciary duty.

Just like in other industries the activist shareholders like Blackrock want that DEI storytelling and don’t care if money is lost along the way.

In many cases they’ll replace CEOs if they don’t get their way.

Blackrock and their ilk have a totally different agenda than most can understand via short term profit motive.

It is a ripe industry for just that. First of all it has a very long reach. Secondly, it is full of low T types that would want to inject their ideology.

It is completely working as their audience is very subjectable. Look how many kids decided they were all of a sudden trans. This type of stuff is accurately described as a contagion

Grummz quoting Palmer Luckey on the Joe Rogan show.

That checks a lot of boxes.
