Venables is just a glorified Aranda; OU just has way more $ than Baylor.

Other than that they’re both just very good former DC’s who aren’t very good HC’s. He choked like my ole baw on that big turbo bong back in the 70’s.

I didn’t watch the whole game. It looks like the OU qb made some bone head mistakes when it counted. Feel a little bad for kicker at the end.
That coach is better than Arranda. Baylor plays lower level teams and loses to them.

Venables didn’t get out coached. 2 boneheaded mistakes in the 2nd quarter pretty much flipped the entire game…
The OU punter dropping the snap and gifting Bama field position that led to a FG
Mateer making a terrible throw for a pick 6
Then the OU kicker missing a chip shot late didn’t help either.

As of 2025 Baylor's endowment stands at 2.2 billion and OU is at 1.81. OU just cares about football more.

Endowments aren’t used towards football.

This one and the dropped touchdown pass on the play before it completely swung that game. Oklahoma was never the same after that two play sequence.

What makes you think a college’s endowment has any relation to or with their athletics budget or prioritization?
