Making a trip to New Orleans this weekend from Pensacola, and we are bringing our poles. What are some good place stop in Mississippi or Louisiana relatively close to i10 where we can possibly catch some reds/specks, ?
Thanks for any help y'all.

It’s a big ask. Nothing comes to mind. Don’t know what you consider relatively close, but I’d look for piers along the route. Don’t know that you’ll get any specks or reds, it that might be your best bet without a boat. I think Slidell used to have a public fishing pier but I believe it’s closed. You might check to see if there is a pier or any place to bank fish around the Rigolets.

Cool, thanks for the response. I'll look on google maps. I think that there are some places around Irish Bayou where you can cast from shore, so maybe we'll check out spots around there.

Check out some videos from Angler Up with Brant on YouTube. He fishes all over the P'cola area from shore. It should give you some spots/ideas of where and what to do.

Yeah I watch his vids a lot. I live in Pensacola, so I know plenty of spots around here, was wondering more-so in the Mississippi and Louisiana area.

Gotcha. I lived on the MS gulf coast for years and I don't know of anywhere to fish without a boat.
Grew up in P'cola area and there are tons w/o a boat.
