Is it possible to control an Android tablet from a phone?

yes, but it depends on (a) the app and (b) the phone and tablet in question.

there are various 'cast to', 'fling', etc options and some work great and some are crappy.

i just used the 'plex companion' feature last night to fling a music album and visualizer to my android tv (basically same thing as a tablet) and it worked surprisingly well; very similar to how chromecast handled it. the app on the phone turned into 'controller' mode and at that point i could close the phone and put it away.

you want to avoid mirroring if at all possible; that locks your phone up, burns the battery out and generally is sluggish and buggy on the mirrored device.


eta as an aside, did you get my note about the orpheus advent calendar? that is killer! i haven't missed a day yet. you still got 9 days to go.

I've seen this option, but heard it sucks. I'll have to download and test it out.

We just need to be able to remotely wake the tablet and start playing Bluey on Plex

Best working solution so far, just using a wireless mouse
