Is there any place in the BR area where I can get wooden spindles to use to build a toddler bed frame? I see a lot of places online but, I want to be able to see what they look like up close before buying them.
Looking for something similar to this picture but, not necessarily this exact style.

Check with local lumberyards.
HD or Lowes may also have them.

Tried them. They only have a very limited selection of spindles for stairs.

You got me curious. I have seen them at HD, didn’t notice they were only for staircases. Looked online and there are about a million of them, various sizes, types, and lengths. Probably find whatever you are looking for.

yeah, but, I'd like to actually see them up close to make sure it's what I want.
I have this picture in my head and i suck at drawing.
I don't even need that many. basically 4 48" spindles and 2 36".
If I can't find them locally, I guess I'll have to take a shot at ordering online.

Yeah, I hated to be Captain Obvious, sorry. Kinda figured the reason you were looking for something local. Only thing is you may be able to find a miller that turns spindles. Always found that fascinating to watch.

I've taken 3-1x3 unfinished appearance grade pine boards and then glued and clamped them together to make a 3x3 (ends up being 2.25x2.25) for a bed I made for my oldest kid's first bed. It was just a squared post but turned out better than anything I could buy. It's not cheap getting them from Lowe's but it was easy, and they were square and straight without needing any special tools.

I'm picturing something like this But, without the vertical spindles in the head and foot boards.

Bayou Woodturners
One of these guys might take this on as a custom job. There are some very talented guys in that group and a few production turners.
Otherwise, you might need to order from the internet.
