Injured himself celebrating.

He was jumping up into the stands to high five people. Complete freak accident

UGA fans commiserate.

Years ago, we lost WR1 Malcolm Mitchell to a torn ACL when he jumped in the air celebrating a Todd Gurley TD run against Clemson on the third play of the first game of the season.

Very good example of how injuries many times are freak. It's why it's dumb to declare someone "injury prone". Small sample size and way too much randomness.

Gurley strained his quad on the exact same play during the run.

Ted Ginn got his leg broken by his own player tackling him in celebration after Ginn took the opening kickoff of the 2006 natty to the house.

All downhill from there

He celebrated after every FG, regardless of the situation. It finally bit him in the arse.

Was that the player who did the book clubs with the old ladies?

PTSD from this. I cringe every time I see our players jumping around after a TD, especially with our luck with injuries.

One of those injuries I couldn't believe hadn't happened to a big player sooner.

Suddenly jumping on a teammate from behind was so common.

As a matter of fact it is. He’s a published author with 3 or 4 kids books.

I remember a LSU player celebrating during the first game against Florida State and tearing his ACL. Crazy things happen. Maason smith possibly?

Maason Smith destroyed a double team and blew up a run play for a loss in maybe the 4th defensive snap of the 2022 LSU/FSU game.

Did a little jump (wasn't egregious at all) and tore his ACL. Was never the same type of impact player at LSU after that.

Who was the QB, I think for the Redskins, that head-butted the wall after a TD and hurt his neck?
