So how were they able to purchase a football roster of this caliber before putting a final 4 team on the basketball court?

Cignetti was one of the best football hires of all time. He might be the best coach in the country right now. Only Smart, and Day rival him.

Their president & AD came together a few years ago and realized that football is your AD and university’s cash cow and they decided to invest heavily. They did this and then they struck gold on their new coach.

Indiana is ranked 72nd and dead last in the B1G in the 247 team talent rankings.
This is not Texas Tech buying their way 29th overall and 1st in the Big 12.

Day acts like he hit a triple yet was born on third . He isn’t a good coach . Urban built it and he has just gotten lucky . His record is shite against decent competition
