Does the current USM OC and former Ark St and Utah St HC take over permanently from Huff?

Huff going to Memphis may be the most underrated hire of this cycle. He’s a good coach and he’s about to have more resources than his competition.

I also follow Memphis (from there originally) and I’m trilled with how this worked out for them. Totally agree with you. He’s a damn good coach and will have real money behind him now. With USF, Tulane and NT all replacing coaches as well, Memphis has a great opportunity next season.

Then they hired Justin Fuente and the rest is history. They were literally on the brink of death until that hire and then FedEx coming in to invest

Larry Porter had them bottom 10 in the FBS in just two seasons. Memphis was so low that they lost to a bad FCS UT Martin in Fuente’s first game.
I know Fuente flames out as a P4 coach, but he was a hell of a program builder and coach in general. Many tried to get something going there and Chuck Stobart and Tommy West had some success, but no one was able to turn the rudder there the way Fuente did. And it’s stuck. They are a consistent winner now.
