Tripped breaker

I have a tripped breaker. When this happened in the past I would switched to off then on and it’s good to go. When I tried that method, I heard a pop and saw little spark as the switch hit the on. Any suggestions?

Did it trip again when you heard the pop?

Sometimes breakers can go bad. It can be swapped out by cutting off the main and replacing or calling an electrician. There may also be a short (broken or chewed wire) in the circuit causing the trip so use your judgement as to what to do next.

Yup. I tried unplugging all the items connected to that breaker and tried it again. Same results.

Need to swap breaker with known good one. Or just swap wires out with a different breaker on panel. If it still trips, you have a short in an outlet or junction box. .

Sounds to me like you need to contact an electrician…Arcing behind your breaker panel is no good.

If it’s arcing at the breaker, either the breaker is bad, or there is trouble with the box. My bet is a bad breaker.

Whatever is being powered by the breaker has a dead short.
