When did they stop alternating between Bryant-Denny & Jordan Hare?

2023 was the last season it was hosted on campus.

The expanded structure of the College Football Playoff will feature 12 teams, with the first round games being hosted on college campuses. Should either Alabama or Auburn be eligible to host a first-round contest, the AHSAA Super 7 would interfere with the field conditions of both schools, as well as the championship site rotation.

Birmingham will host in 2025 and 2027 and Mobile in 2026 and 2028.

Didn't even think about CFP...that sucks. In a state without an NFL stadium it was a great alternative. Was one of the cool things they did since moving from Legion Field.

Hancock & Progressive are great but don't come with the prestige.

I'm guessing they'll play at South Alabama's stadium?

Ladd is hardly used anymore.

Rightfully so though. The gun fire at a game a few years ago scared off what schools were still using that stadium at the time. Plus, most schools in Mobile have their own on campus stadium now. McGill-Toolen has one that is not on campus. Murphy still uses Ladd stadium though. You want to talk about a program that has fallen so far? It's Murphy.

Vigor is one of the few that hasn't felt the sting of the reclassifications over the years.

It's a better atmosphere than having it in stadiums twice their size.

Thompson 48 - Opelika 10

Thompson jumped up to a 34-3 lead in the 1st half.

It's their 6th state championship in the last 7 years.

“Only God could put us in the position we’ve been in the last few years,” Thompson coach Mark Freeman said.

I don't think anyone will read this or care, but I really hate this a-hole. If Mark Freeman wasn't a football coach, he would be the pastor of a megachurch that swindles people out of money. The Kenneth Copeland type. Somehow God is always blessing him and his players and the holy spirit is doing wondrous works for him, and he is the first person to let everyone know. It's not that the holy spirit does wonders for everyone. It's that the holy spirit does wonders for Mark Freeman.

Never mind that Thompson was a shite program for years until they suddenly had top athletes moving into the Alabaster area for their high school years. But maybe that's what the holy spirit was doing for Mark Freeman.
