On Blake Baker and Charlie Weis

How’s everyone doing tonight men
Loved that opening presser. Was authentic and well said.
Blake Baker:
Just got out of dinner in BR and the current rumor and expectation is if Tulane does make the offer to Blake Baker, he will accept. The current expectation is they will extend an offer to Blake.
With that being said, they are still going to conduct a few other interviews so we can hope to get lucky but I hate to be the bearer of bad news… Baker is likely coaching at Tulane next season.
I always thought we were on borrowed time with Baker even after last season and honestly, good for him. I will always remember that he turned that 2023 defense to a top ten defense in all of the sport in two seasons.
Charlie Weis:
As I mentioned last night USF is going to be trying to land him. It’s a very similar situation to Baker. If offered he’s going to go in my opinion.
Replacing two coordinators is going to be a MAJOR first task for Lane if this unfolds how it currently expecting it. I trust him though.

I’ll follow this up by saying there are a few different names floating around the rumor mill on who could possible be coming in if this unfolds.

I don't think Weis is really all that great but i guess Kiffin likes him. I wonder if Kiffin will pursue Judge to replace him but I'm not sure that he's ever called plays

It’s certainly an option. Lane will have his pick of the litter at OC at LSU. Not many guys you wouldn’t be able to grab from elsewhere

It feels like both are gone but fingers crossed. We didn’t hire him to be great in 2026 but who knows. Shouldn’t be hard to get the replacements for the future. LSU + LK + $ should attract premier coordinators.

This guy may be fake or real. But I know he’s the only person I saw call Pete Golding to be the next head coach at Ole Miss. Literally everybody was saying judge. Even the fans.

I would beg to differ here. In this era you can flip a team in one offseason. He is definitely expected to and will be great next year.

Lane is the OC. He’s just working with whoever has that title.
