Points allowed per game national ranking on Baker's teams as defensive coordinator
2015 - Louisiana Tech - 27.8 (64th)
2016 - Louisiana Tech - 34.3 (96th)
2017 - Louisiana Tech - 25.5 (47th)
2018 - Louisiana Tech - 23.5 (38th)
2019 - Univ of Miami - 21.9 (26th)
2020 - Univ of Miami - 34.3 (91st) *Covid
2022 - Missouri - 25.8 (54th)
2023 - Missouri - 21.8 (28th)
2024 - LSU - 24.6 (53rd)
2025 - LSU - 19.1 (15th) (considering the inept offense, this is outstanding)
Average of 51st.
Average excluding Covid year of 47th
Major conference average of 44th
Major conference average excluding Covid year of 35th
Average at LSU of 34th
Need to continue in that top 28 or so like 2023 Missouri and this year at LSU. With an expected better (Kiffin) offense to not put the defense in bad field position as often and to give them more rest, I think that is very doable.
History shows that SEC and national championship winning teams are somewhere in the top 30 in scoring defense. For example, LSU 2019 was 29th.
These stats are only for games against FBS opponents (no stat-padding against FCS teams allowed) and include postseason games.

He’s been one of the real bright spots on Kelly’s staff. I honestly hope he sticks around.

Also, good job putting this all together.

It's the year 1 to year 2 jump at Mizzou and now LSU that is very impressive. Especially considering the disaster he inherited from House.
