Was this the first time that LSU went after and landed the Big Fish they sought out after?
Not sure who else was in the race when we hired Les Miles.

I think probably Bo Rein.
Every coach since has been a promotion (orgeron archer Stovall) a mildly successful tier 2 program coach (saban, miles, dinardo, hallman) or someone nobody knew was available (Kelly), or the AD's guy few here knew about (arnsparger)
From what I remember, Rein was the guy everybody expected to be LSU's Bobby Bowden.
