I succumbed to a Sherwood Green/mint pickguard Squier Jazzmaster XII on sale for $299.
It actually plays and sounds great! Onstage, I usually play a Charvel Surfmaster 12 from the late 90s but this one might get some time... if the big gumby headstock isn't too much of a pain to deal with (I probably have to put it in a bass case).
