The fact that this movie is 90 plus percent on Rotten Tomatoes is proof that the Idiocracy is upon us.

I would give it a solid 65.

So you would give it a fresh tomato just like 90% of the critics that watched it

Critics pumped up the rating because it was a criticism of the right. That gets you twenty tomatoes easily. It’s kind of like when someone has a posh English accent they get the benefit of 15 IQ points.

Because right leaning audiences stayed away. I love PTA and own all of his movies. Not paying money to be vaguely chucklefricked over my politics. No hard feelings. Just not doing it. Are you Fox Butterfield?

The politics lean left, but the film is not a criticism of the right.

That makes more sense. You're politics include belonging to super-rich, racist elite class? That's who gets "chucklefricked."

It was obsurd on so many levels. The libtards got a good fantasy to reinforce their halftard beliefs.

Only counts people that bought their ticket on Fandango

I dunno what to think of the RT movie audience score anymore

People don't understand RT scores

Nobody understands that if every critic rated a movie 6/10, it would have 100% RT score

And RT games that sometimes, too.

I posted over a dozen reviews of The Last Jedi that were 2/4 and even some 2/5 that were counted as "fresh"

It is so very unreliable when a major studio is involved

I guess so. Your ethics and politics seem based on envy because you’re incompetent. In the real world we all chucklefrick at you.

Set aside the politics of this movie. It's just not interesting, smart, funny, or exciting. I like PTA and very much looked forward to this one. I hate that he wasted several years on this.

Some of the performances sparkle. Teyana Taylor (Perfidia) and Chase Infiniti (Willa) light up the screen. Benicio amuses in a Wes Anderson-adjacent role. Everyone else toggles between cartoonish (Penn and everyone in his camp) and boring (Regina Hall and everyone in her camp).

Below average considering the budget and talent assembled.

Love PTA, but he needs to stay away from Pynchon.

I haven't enjoyed a Paul Thomas Anderson film this much since Boogie Nights. It had a pinch of Wes Anderson and some Kubrick bits here and there.

I didn't find a sympathetic character until the time jump, but the leads in the first half are entertaining as hell as a-hole cartoons. The Kubrickian white supremacy weirdness was amazing. I was pumped to see Jim Downey in a film again.

It was good, not great. I didn’t care about any of the characters until the second half. Sean Penn was great in his weirdo role.
