Legitimately, prepare the next guy and have the plane on standby for Saturdays big "decision".
All roads point to him leaving, but there are a lot of hours in a week.
All told, i think announcing to everyone to "lock in" as opposed to letting everyone know he signed is pretty damning.

100% correct because this entire week Lane is going to be thinking and Ole Miss is going to be scheming to counter offer.
