Does anyone know what they were ultimately sentenced to? I've searched the internet and can only find info up until they were convicted by a jury earlier this year. They faced 1-10 years in prison + fines. They were supposed to be sentenced on July 8 but I can't find anything after their conviction.

My question is how big does the rock have to be for it to be a criminal offense?

Big enough to roll and generate enough force to roll on a pitch that would allow it to travel to the bottom.

I went and read the article because I wanted to see what they did to these morons lol.

I ended up on their side when I left.

The article doesn’t mention any punishment, only the maximum penalty for the charge they were convicted of. OP even mentions that he can’t find any info on their sentencing and punishment.

See snippet below from the link in the OP. We just don’t know if they were sentenced to one or both.

quote:

United States District Judge Jennifer A. Dorsey scheduled sentencing for July 8, 2025. Fain and Cosper each face a maximum penalty of one year in prison, a $100,000 fine, or both. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

That’s just the maximum penalty for the charge. Meaning anyone convicted of this crime faces a maximum penalty of 100k fine and a year in prison. The actual punishment can be anything up to that.

To even suggest 100k as a potential fine is ludicrous.

Christ you’re dull. It’s just the maximum penalty for the charge. The number has nothing to do with the rocks.

That's only the max possible. They didn't get fined 100k.

Depends on what your definition of slob is. But you may be right.
