For those of you that live in pine tree dominant areas, here's what I'm talkin' about:

The term "leaf wars" describes the seasonal disagreements that may arise between neighbors when autumn leaves accumulate, particularly when foliage from one property falls onto another's yard. Legally, individuals are responsible for leaves once they have landed on their property; however, etiquette professionals recommend assisting with cleanup from one's own trees to foster good relations and mitigate disputes. More serious conflicts can occur when neighbors purposefully deposit or blow leaves across property boundaries.

The single most important fact to remember before approaching your neighbor is this: Once a leaf from any tree lands on your property, it becomes your responsibility.

You baws that live in regions of the country where the leaves change each year know what I'm talkin' about. Disputes occur when property lines are unclear or encroached upon. The struggle is real.

Here Are Your Options!

I nipped that problem in th bud when I first moved in this neighborhood, when the leaves begin falling I go next door and bang the neighbor's wife while he gets the leaces up from my yard.

I take care of my leaves and my neighbors leaves as she has ALS and I just blow them into my yard and take care of them as we both have oak trees. The leaves that blow into my neighbors yard are his responsibility. He and his family are crazy so I don’t go on their property.

Tons of that for me in Northern Virginia. I have a section of fence that traps all the leaves that get blown by the wind that 95% of the time blows out of the NW.

I don't care about leaves from some other person's house because I'm not an unstable person. I also don't rake my own leaves, i run them all over with the lawnmower and make instant mulch/feed for the grass.

Last year I had some odd silent leaf war with the neighbor on the side.
I always do the border cut right up the line kicking stuff to the right (onto my side) and go on. He for some reason cut but left some leaf wall on his side. Whatever, I kept cutting my side mulching along the line but for some reason, ole boy would cut but left that leaf wall all season long. Every time I wondered if he was expecting me to cut/mulch it but the leaves were from his tree and the wall was like a foot or two on his side.

My neighbor has 2 very large oak trees on our property line that dump a lot of leaves. The wind blows most of them into my yard, gutters on 3 sides, flower beds, garage, etc and are a major pain in the arse.

We were laughing at the leaf problems yesterday morning. Neighbor told wife he numbered all his leaves and if they blew into our yard he would come and get em.

Leaves don’t bother me.

Why does it bother people?

It’s beneficial to a lawn to mulch it up.
