This is the first topic I've ever started on Pelicans Talk. I don't like to be dragged down by a lot of negativity. Why be a fan of a team if I'm miserable all the time? I'd rather stop being a fan. I've been a season ticket holder for some years, since before we drafted Zion (I dropped them this season).
I've been slow coming to this point, but I've come the feel the last 6+ season of the Zion fiasco has been a cancer to the soul of being a Pelicans fan. Every season we hope he'll be healthy and then he's not. We build a team around Z and then he's gone.
I used to be able to sell the tickets I didn't use for reasonable money but for the last few seasons, less and less, to about nothing last season. The spirit is dying.
A finger can be pointed at other things, owner, our GMs. coaches, other players, this or that trade, etc. But the Zion situation is the cancer.
Will our current GM cut out the cancer, find a miraculous cure or will all life be sucked out of being a Pels fan?

If you you’re a long time fan you should not be miserable. In 22 years this team has been above.500 7 years. This is nothing new. Only 9 seasons the pelicans have finished above 10th in western conference. Cry about Zion all you want this is not a championship franchise. Be disappointed in yourself for thinking that just because you get the #1 pick in draft the franchise will change

Baron Davis, CP3, Anthony Davis, Zion

1 of these is not like the others and people have every right to be more mad than usual
