I’m looking for recommendations to scrape & paint popcorn ceilings in a master bathroom & bedroom in Kenner.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Ponderosa Painting. On the Northshore and not sure if the go across the lake, but they did a phenomenal job touching up, finishing and painting mine (scraped it myself). Very thorough and professional. Maybe worth a call to see, but bring $ as it’s labor intensive.
ETA 2 rooms may not be that bad $ wise. They did my entire house.

How old is it? Need to be sure it’s not asbestos.

Assuming it's like mine was, I just misted it with water and it comes off very easily. It's a huge mess, so you need to have some plastic down, but it comes off relatively easily.
The next issue is that you have to prepare the ceiling for painting, which is quite a process. Honestly, I'd pay a painter to do it. You can save yourself some money by getting rid of the popcorn, but I'd pay someone else to put on a smooth texture and paint it.

It's an easy DIY job.
Get one of these. It has clips to attach a grocery store plastic bag. The bag catches a lot of the mess. Still put down some plastic sheeting to catch the rest.

We had it removed in our house in Florida. We had a guy remove it. We were fortunate. The seems under the popcorn were done right. We were able to just paint over the ceiling after the popcorn was removed.
